What is considered a good cholesterol number?
May 11, 2010 at 7:49 pm |
A total cholesterol number less than 200; but the important numbers to consider are the LDL – bad cholesterol – which should not be greater than 100; and the HDL or good cholesterol, should be greater than 60.

Yes, when HDL numbers are too low, it can increase one’s risk factors for early coronary disease. Exercise, Niacin and sometimes statins (i.e. Crestor or other prescription meds) may help to increase the HDL level.
